DID ROLEX OVERLOOK THE JIGSAW PUZZLE & BUBBLES OYSTER PERPETUAL DAY-DATE?

What makes Cheap Fake Rolex purchased on Ebay even more special is the juxtaposition of old-world technique with its light-hearted concept. The Day-Date is one of Rolex’s most prestigious pieces, thanks to its ability to display both the date and day of the week, but this version subverts that tradition in favor of vibey sayings and text-ready emojis. The seven different words it displays up top are “Happy,” Eternity,” “Gratitude,” Peace,” “Faith,” “Love,” and “Hope.” The watch also displays 31 different emojis, including a little Rolex crown, a Magic 8 Ball, a panda, a ladybug, and a sweet smooching face. It is almost certainly the strangest thing to ever come out of Rolex’s catalog.

I’m sure this will be a brief release from Rolex, which means it will ultimately be a collector’s item. Add to that reality of rarity the fact that now its notoriety and popularity will surely rise with John Mayer adding it to his collection, and maybe, just maybe, the jigsaw puzzle Day-Date will finally see its day in the sun. I know I’d love to come across one at a watch meetup just to check it out. And maybe this will be my little reminder for next year’s Watches & Wonders not to take watches so seriously, that it’s okay for brands to step outside the box and have a little fun. In the meantime, I’ll be sitting here waiting for G-Shock to put out a Tamagotchi watch *insert heart-eye emoji here*. John Mayer put it best, a "wearable reminder to have fun".

That the watch is such an oddity is exactly what makes it such a perfect fit for Mayer’s collection. The musician has consistently bucked trends in the watch world, always following his own nose. Perhaps the most famous example is what’s now known as the “John Mayer” Daytona—the gold green-dial variation that shot up in value after the “Gravity” singer wore it. Mayer was also early to embrace flashier gold Rolex pieces and gem-set versions of the Daytona, including the now-infamous Rainbow.

The 18k white gold Day-Date showcases the highly-desirable blue turquoise “puzzle pieces” dial, adorned with multi-colored baguette-cut sapphire markers. Along with displaying words of encouragement through the day window, its date function has also been replaced with a series of emojis. Back in March, at the Watches & Wonders trade show in Geneva, Rolex unveiled one of the year's most talked-about watches: a Day-Date with a jigsaw puzzle dial and—most controversially—emojis instead of numbers on the date wheel.
